Alex’s lifelong passion for horses started at a young age, as the daughter of a professional horsewoman she has been riding and showing horses her whole life. After a successful junior riding career, she attended Rutgers University. While studying for her degree in Political Science, she competed on the Rutgers Equestrian Team as the lead Open rider in both flat and over fences and was Athlete of the Year.

After graduating, she went on to pursue her love for horses. Alex has worked for show barns as a professional rider and trainer for the past 13 years, spending 11 with Joe Currais at Hunters Landing. In her time at Hunters Landing, their students won top ribbons at every major National finals, including: Harrisburg, Washington, NHS, and Devon. As a trainer, Alex has advanced her students from their very first lesson all the way to tricolors at Pony Finals, MS Finals, Zone Finals, and PHA Finals.

After leaving Hunters Landing, Alex has been focusing on successfully building her own riding and training business. This has led her to her new home at Heron Stables in Bedminster, NJ.

Alex has a special talent for fixing horses and ponies with training problems and bringing along green prospects to compete at the “A” circuit level. Alex’s devotion, enthusiasm, and willingness to go above and beyond for her students and horses has led to her success both in and out of the show ring. Regardless of your riding level, she delivers excellent instruction while making it a positive and enjoyable experience. Alex tailors competitions to every riders’ abilities and personal goals. Her extensive experience in the saddle and on the ground make for a winning combination!
