Important safety and general information:

  • For safety reasons no cigarettes on the property.

  • No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances are to be used on the property.

  • No open toe shoes in the barn.

  • Dogs are not allowed on premises without the owner's (Pato Amador) consent.

  • ASTM-approved helmets and approved footwear (boots with heels) are required for everyone while mounted.

  • Horses may not be left unattended.

  • Every effort will be made to call the owner in the event of injury or illness; unless it is life-threatening and urgent then your vet will be called.

  • Only Heron Stables trainers are permitted to give lessons on the property (please contact owner for special requests).

  • All jumps or obstacles must be put away after use.

  • No jumping outside of lessons.

Use of grounds and maintenance:

  • Heron Stables takes pride and puts a lot of effort to keep property well maintained.  If you notice anything that could be improved please alert a member of our staff.

  • Do not ride your horse outside of designated trails, and never on grass that is maintained and cut.

  • Grazing horses are only allowed in designated areas

  • Do not ride your horse on private property.  We have miles of trails that can be used at your discretion.  Never ride on the management’s private property that includes private driveways and private lawn.

Scheduling:

  • All vet and farrier appointments must be approved by barn if using outside vets or farriers.

  • Our 24-hour cancellation policy remains in effect to keep the program running smoothly and allow for better scheduling. Failure to attend your lesson without providing 24 hour notice will result in a lost lesson fee. 

  • Monthly lessons/training packages cannot be rolled over month to month to help with scheduling during show season and keep everyone on track with their training/lesson packages. If you miss a lesson, you’ll need to reschedule within the same month. We’ll aim to have coverage during most shows. If you prefer to ride with Alex, you must schedule within her availability. If you can’t attend, Alex can do a training ride that day to prevent having to roll over to the following month 

  • Barn hours are Tuesday to Sunday.

Barn Etiquette:

  • Please be respectful of boarders, riders, and barn staff. 

  • Use halters and lead ropes when handling horses.

  • Only seasonal items to be hung on stall doors (sheets/blankets/fly spray).  Any extra items or duplicate items can be placed upstairs in our storage area.  Please ask any member of our staff if you have questions about this.  

  • All children should be supervised by adults.  

  • Only park in the designated areas.  No driving or parking on the grass.

  • All tack must be neatly kept in the designated tack room

  • driveways and private lawn.
